Big news just hit. The next game in the Battlefield series was just revealed by EA with a 4 minute trailer that looks visually impressive and, just as the publisher claims, it contains in game footage.

The main rival of Call of Duty in the game industry, has just stuck its head out from that long absence it left players after the release of Battlefield V and all its subsequent DLCs and expansions.

As we know, the Battlefield series, does not follow the same practice of yearly releases like their main rivals, choosing instead to focus more on the content that they can deliver for their current game. All of this is great for them, as the announcement of a new game in the series just catches the attention of gamers everywhere.

But, besides all those flashy images that we get to see whenever a game is revealed, there are some details that have been shared about the game, some of which can be taken away from all the action in the trailer.

Starting with the release date, the game will officially launch on October 22nd this year, so there's not that long of a wait ahead of us. The game seems to be a direct response to Call of Duty Warzone, the free-to-paly battle royale expansion, because there will be no single player campaign, no story, the game being exclusively online, as EA tries to focus on the multiplayer side of the game as it is more monetizable.

The game will include special packs called Battle Passes, but we are yet to see what that will be about. All we know at this moment is that they will be both free and premium.

Battlefield 2042 promises a full overhaul of the classes in their multiplayer game, every class being focused on one trait and one gadget exclusively, as for the actual gameplay, the phrase that seems to be the tagline the publishers promote is "all out warfare". The game has a few modes available, on which we don't have details at the moment, but the multiplayer maps will be able to host games with 128 players simultaneously for the current generation of consoles, PS5 and Xbox Series X, and only 64 players for last generation consoles, PS4 and Xbox One.
