Crysis is getting remastered

The technological wonder that was, and still is, Crysis is going to be remastered.

The game that was released back in 2007, became notorious for giving people to play it regardless of their setup. Back then, this meant that you could play the game smoothly on any graphical set up and also that the game would present visual challenges even for today's hardware.

Rumors started to spread after a twitter user found an image and bits of information on the official Crysis website, and then spread the word around.


Eventually, it was officially announced that the remaster version of the 2007 sci-fi shooter is in development.


The remaster version will add high-quality textures and improved art assets, to the original. Those will be accompanied by and HD texture pack, new light settings, motion blur, parallax occlusion mapping, temporal anti-aliasing, SSDO and SVOGI. Also, according to the developers Crytek, volumetric fog, software based ray tracing will also be added and will provide a major visual upgrade for the game.
