In the big event that takes over the gaming world during this summer, Summer Game Fest, the latest bug announcement comes from the a partnership between Sony and Epic Games.

The two companies have teamed up shortly in order to showcase a new and impressive looking tech demo for both, the Unreal Engine 5 and the PS5.

The Unreal Engine 5 will release next year, just in time to give creators a new tool to build up their new games for the upcoming generation. The tech demo that showcased the power of the new game creation tool is called Lumen in the Land of Nanite, and looks a lot like a combination between Tomb Raider, Uncharted and Horizon Zero Dawn with jaw-dropping visuals.

Dynamic light seems to be one of the new features of the engine that comes up front. The new Unreal Engine also promises film quality assets that can be used in the creation of games and also promises to make the creation process far easier for developers. It seems that the engine is capable of streaming ultra-complex geometry at the highest detail level possible. More so, developers will be able to import 3D assets within the engine and right after the engine will take care of the rest.

Another little piece of information that we took from the demo is about the PS5. Until now, there are very few things that are known about Sony's new console, but from the showcasing of the Unreal Engine 5, we learned that the PS5 was chosen for its loading and streaming capabilities, having a SSD structure that is far superior to that of a PC. This means that the PS5 will raise the bar for hardware performance to a whole new level... that of course when we'll hear something about it.
