One of the most important figures in the world of gaming altogether Geoff Keighly, the creator of The Game Awards, who previously organized some other big events like Gamescom Opening Night Live or E3 Colisem, just announced a four month long festival dedicated to games, the Summer Game Fest.

Because of the worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, many major events got canceled for safety reasons, events like E3, San Diego Comic-Con, Gamescom, GDC and many more. The good news is that the summer won't feel as empty as we might've imagined thanks to Keighly.

The Summer Game Fest will run starting this month in May until August. At this moment details are a little bit fuzzy, but from what we now, all across the four month period, major game announcements, reveals and gameplay demos will be featured.

Keighly announced on Twitter a list of major studios that will partner up with this event in a move that reminds us of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since it's entitled 'Phase 1'. The list includes: Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Activison, Bethesda, CD Projekt Red, Blizzard, Bungie, Bandai Namco, EA, Digital Extremes, Private Division, Riot Games, Square Enix and Warner Bros.

All the events that will take part during Summer Game Fest will stream on major channels and platforms like Twitch, Mixer, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. If you want to keep up to date with what's happening you can check out the official website here. There you can submit your e-mail address to be notified when the festival will go live.
