The smallest of announcements makes it big. One of the weirdest trailers at Summer Game Fest was, by far, Death Stranding's new outing, which shouldn't be surprising coming from Hideo Kojima.
The veteran of the industry, had the chance to create the game that he wanted in collaboration with Sony with what later became Death Stranding, a game that, basically created its entire genre and got everybody split in two camps, with loving or hating the game.
Kojima brings back his masterpiece, this time around with the Director's Cut, and since his close relationship with Geoff Keighley, the Summer Game Fest was, of course, the perfect place to show the world the game's new trailer... if it can be called that.
The Director's Cut is still keeping secrets about what changes we might see in this edition of the game, but what it's not keeping a secret is Kojima's sense of humor if we can call it that, as the, under three minutes, trailer shows the protagonist, Sam Porter-Bridges, trying to sneak through a warehouse filled whit guards right at the moment when he stumbles upon a box and the idea hits him.
The whole trailers is just focusing on that soft jab at Konami, where Sam is emptying the box that is full of oranges and then tries it out in an attempt to sneak around, only to quickly give up on the idea and put the box back in its place.
Even though it didn't delivered on information, the trailer did manage to deliver on entertainment, as this little jab at the famous box hiding mechanic of Metal Gear, which is still owned by Konami, is the perfect way for Kojima to showcase his prefect version of his creation with the Director's Cut for Death Stranding, and if you're curious to see that banter, the trailers is available here:
