There are new and exiting details about Deathloop, the next project under the signature of Arkane Studios, the guys responsible for a lot of great games, most notably the Dishonored Series. Speaking of Dishonored, Deathloop follows closely in its footsteps, with a lot of elements being borrowed from that universe, but instead of being based in a grim world, this time your surrounding are more stylish.

During Sony's State of Play this February, Deathloop was one of the games that were showcased with a brand new gameplay trailer that share a lot more of the world you're going to be part of, the story, the stylish design of the environment, and some of the abilities you can go crazy with.

Coming from Arkane Studios, they made the choice to keep the magic abilities that were made popular in the Dishonored series and do a complete makeover on them to fit this new game. Some of the abilities that were shown in the trailer and clearly be in the game are the teleportation ability and using telekinesis to throw object towards your enemies. Unfortunately for you as a player, there are more abilities in the game, but they are not for you. As you will control Colt, one of the assassins in the game, your opponent, Juliann, the other assassin also possesses abilities that she can use to trick you and hunt you down, the main one that was shown in the trailer, is her being able to camouflage as regular NPCs.

Besides the special abelites that you can use, the came has a very intricate combat system based on the combination from those abelites and weapons, mainly guns, with SMG and dual wielding pistols being the weapons of choice for Colt, and a killer sniper rifle for Julianna.

Details of the story were not explored, but it seems that there is another threat on the island lead by a bigger villain with tons of henchmen roaming the island trying to stop you.

The Groundhog Day theme is even more showcased this time, the trailer showing Colt going on a rampage only to fail and get killed and wake up to do it all over again multiple times.

The soundtrack gives you a little glimpse of the atmosphere that the Island of Blackreef will inherit, with a vibe blasting from the 70s and 80s, while some James Bond like notes are dropped here and there, and the main character Colt really casting our mind to one of the most iconic rock start ever with his attitude and tone of voice, Jimi Hendrix.

You can take a look at what you can expect in Deathloop, in the trailer below.
