Overwhelming positive response for The Last of Us Part II from initial reviews

One of the games that left the entire gaming community in awe and also did not a seem to need a sequel. For some time Naughty Dog seemed to resist the urge of making another game, but they eventually got down to business and the end result rises to every expectation that was set or not.

The official launch for The Last of Us Part II is right around the corner, but before the public gets their hands on the game, the media outlets in the business got the chance to play and review the game.

It is no surprise to find out how good the sequel is. This time around the game focuses on Ellie as a protagonist instead of Joel. Just as in the first game, the performances of the actors are hitting all the right spots with brilliant delivery of emotional scenes form actors Ashley Johnson and Troy Baker.

The feel of the game is still familiar but it seems the developers managed to add some variety to keep things new, fresh and interesting. The enemies seem even smarter this time around, especially the infected that benefit from a pack mentality. The factions of human enemies have different ways of behaving and communicating, so if you want to take them on easily, you need to understand how they work.

When it comes to the combat and stealth options they also have new layer. As enemies are smarter, you have to be very creative with moving around stealthy, the key being moving around a lot. The head on combat is also improved and looks more brutal than it was in the first game.

The world around is more open than before and it does reward exploration with every location and very room having some sort of back story ready to share with you. There are also environmental puzzles that explore a vast set of skills that you as the player and Ellie must posses together.

The general atmosphere of the game is breathtaking, with impressive visuals and carefully crafted graphics, amazing sound design and astonishing soundtrack. All that accompanies the the very good writing and amazing acting performances to create a story that will, most definitely, will leave anyone in awe.
