A few days ago the first official look at Deathloop's gameplay during the reveal of the PS5.

The game was first announced last year at E3 during Bethesda's stage show, but all we got back then was a cinematic trailer that did not reveal too much in terms of actual graphics or gameplay.

In the gameplay reveal it's made pretty obvious the difference between that cinematic trailer and this one. The graphics of the game are not as top notch as expected but the game still looks good.

As Deathloop is another game developed by Arkane Studios, the gameplay look very similar to the latest games released by the studio, the two Dishonored titles.

The graphic style is clearly borrowed from Dishonored and much more than that, the story follows the actions of two different assassins set to kill each other, but at the same time they are stuck in a loop of ... what else but death, Groundhog Day style, where they are doomed to repeat the same sequence over and over again with minor changes.

In that regard even the gameplay is borrowed from Dishonored. Even if there is a more futuristic setting, unlike the Victorian London vibe of the Dishonored series, the abilities seem to be the same, with the teleportation ability that is shown in the trailers sharing the same mechanic, animation and functionality between the two games.

Honestly, following those images it is clear why people see it as a Dishonored copy, but since we are talking about some very good games in particular that are made by a very dedicated studio, the fact that Deathloop shares a lot of points with Arkane's previous works, makes the upcoming game a very promising title.
